• Creating awareness for life sciences streams which have much more diversified avenues and scope for placement compared to other sectors.
• Seeking vital information for prospective employers and the job seekers to chalk out the future strategies for the mutual benefits of both.
• Achieving the Dolphin’s mission of 100% placements not only for our own students but for the students of the whole Uttarakhand state.

Dolphin Job Fair 09 was held on 7th February 2009 at Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences, Manduwala, Dehra Dun (Uttarakhand). It was inaugurated by Shri SK Goyal, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, Dehra Dun. During his inaugural address he appreciated the efforts of Team Dolphin under the leadership of Shri Arvind Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, for giving a tough time to global economic recession by creating a good number of jobs. Prof. KD Purohit, OSD to the Honb’le Chief Minister and looking after the higher education in the state presided over the function and addressed the job seekers and the job providers. He said that these are the tough times but the tough times don’t last while the tough people do. He further emphasized that if the youngsters have to succeed in this competitive world, in these times we should work more and talk less.

The job fair got a tremendous and fabulous response with participation of about 50 companies of high repute and about 1000 students from about 29 colleges across the state, besides good participation from the universities of the state. About 500 students have been selected by various companies. Some important companies which short listed the students are Aquamall Water Solutions (Eureka Forbes), Ipca Laboratories., Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gambles, Panacia Biotech, Dr. Reddy’s, Zee Labs., Kailash Hospital, Physiotherapy Services Jaipur Hospital College of Physiotherapy, Needs Pharmaceuticals, VLCC Health Care, Nectar Life Sciences, Shreya Life Sciences, Sharon Bio-Medical, Rusan Pharmaceuticals, IGL, Kilitch Drugs, Paras, Windlas Biotech. etc.

Apart from job and internship opportunities the fair provided a knowledge sharing platform both to the academia and industry. The representatives of the companies from various streams and industries were of the opinion that the universities must on priority undertake the integration of syllabus and curriculum in such a manner so as to generate the human resource which is productive for them from day one. Shri SK Goyal, Chief Guest during his interaction with Shri Rajeev Verma promised to extend full financial support to those students who are keen to become job providers rather than job seekers by setting up their own small scale units.

The job fair was planned with the objective of providing jobs to the students of the state. The Dolphin has created a history of sort by organising the event of this magnitude and first of its kind in the state. The event concluded with the flying colours and was appreciated by one and all. The students from other colleges requested the management of Dolphin Institute to make this event a regular annual feature.
